I have never trusted anything that requires the lights to be on before it can be discussed.
Some things are dark.
Pretending otherwise does not improve them.
I could write exclusively about sunshine, optimism and the magnificent spiritual experience of drinking artisan coffee.
But I would be lying.
Darkness does not automatically mean despair.
Sometimes it is simply where the interesting questions live.
Why do people believe what they believe?
Why do they obey things they privately despise?
Why does morality become surprisingly flexible when money is involved?
Why do people demand honesty and then become offended when they receive it?
Those questions interest me.
So I put them into songs.
Preferably with a large distorted guitar underneath them.
